If you are participating in the Hans Christian Andersen Andersen Festivals for the first time, you may have some questions about being a performer. We have therefore tried to gather the most frequently asked questions below.

The festival is looking for exciting, imaginative, creative, innovative and unique projects in areas such as theater, dance, music, song, art, opera, happenings, cross-over performances and street performances. The projects must relate to one or more of the central concepts in the festival's H.C. Andersen's universe.

No. All applications must be completed and submitted via the festival application form.
You can expect a response to your application by early January at the latest.
The festival's specialized committees do.
The committees are professionals from theater and dance, music, street performance, cultural communication and education, and business professionals.
Your application will be received by the festival secretariat, which will administratively prepare it for assessment by the festival committees. It is the committees that select projects for the festival. Once the assessments have been made, the secretariat will notify you whether your application has been selected to be part of the festival.
