Every year during the festival, the streets, alleys, parks, and squares of Odense buzz with more than 250,000 visitors who are swept away by the festival's more than 500 fascinating experiences for all ages. Our vision is to create a large and diverse cultural event that puts Odense on the cultural map both nationally and internationally through the timeless universe of Hans Christian Andersen.
Activities with plenty of fuel for the imagination, ranging from music, theater, lectures, comedy, drone light shows, and street art. A proud and beautiful tradition that has been created by a large community of sponsors, supporters, volunteers, cultural entrepreneurs, and actors who all want to show the world new interpretations of the universe of Hans Christian Andersen.
Thousands of children are involved in the morning hours through the festival's free school program. In collaboration with Odense children's and educational institutions, children gain a deeper insight into the universe of Hans Christian Andersen and the opportunity to develop and test their skills.
